5 Questions for Goal Setting and Achievement

January 2017

Those execs were not alone. For many, it’s a common struggle.

Five questions can help leaders at every level set — and achieve — impactful goals:

  1. Are my goals achievable?
  2. Do I have the necessary resources to achieve them?
  3. Can I audit the results?
  4. Am I dependent on others and are they performing?
  5. Are my goals integrated with others in my organization?

At OPS, our performance technologists have decomposed hundreds of goals to find three main goal structures. We’ve built those structures into our software so that, with a little bit of user provided information, our Organizational Performance System (OPS) algorithm can auto-generate a grammatically correct goal. The result is a well-defined goal every time, and much (much) better than the standard type-in text box.

And we improved the sustainment process via our projects module (it’s free) so that every project and major activity can be integrated across any organization.

As we welcome the New Year, I hope you’ll check them out.

Happy New Year! Jim
