The Silicon Valley Leadership Group (SVLG) announced a plan by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to open one of its regional patent offices in Silicon Valley.

This week, subject matter experts (SME) and executives from eleven components of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) completed an assessment of air domain awareness (ADA) using the Proofpoint performance analysis system.
This assessment follows a similar analysis of the maritime domain (MDA) conducted by the Department of Defense (DoD) and more than 20 interagency partners, again using Proofpoint.
The results of the ADA assessment included a prioritized list of vulnerabilities and the solutions necessary to mitigate the gaps.

The Moxie Coefficient is a quick assessment of leadership confidence associated with a particular plan or project. The basis of the tool is doctoral research conducted by Dr. Jim Hill, Proofpoint's CEO, while he was a student at the University of Southern California.
Proofpoint Systems announced their receipt of the 2011 Award of Excellence from the International Society for Performance Improvement for a Global Workforce Review conducted in 2009 and 2010. The award was co-presented to Proofpoint's client, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency.
